Exile To The Wild West 2017

Canada, Iqaluit…
On an island of rocks, not far from the Arctic Circle, they arrived with the same impulse: leaving to start over. The Great North was at first a way out, then soon became a place that was hard to quit. Here, their existence lies fallow. Here, we do our time.
No matter what their lives were like before, they are now taxi drivers in this isolated Arctic town. Alone at the wheel of their car, they literally drive in circles, day and night. A perpetual Tetris on what is called the “ring road”: an asphalt loop of about ten kilometers. Even though the hours of work are long and redundant, they have plenty of time to think about the life that awaits them in the South.
Exile to the Wild West weaves a tale of loneliness and hope against a polar cold backdrop.
